I was introduced to Sarah & Mike through a very close friend of mine, so I knew before we even met that we were going to get along great! After chatting with them about what they wanted for their session, we came to the conclusion that it was best to separate it into two days. One out in beautiful East Sooke Park and one at our lovely Esquimalt Lagoon. Mike has an old motorbike that is quite dear to him and he was saying goodbye to it the following week, so we wanted to make sure to incorporate the bike into some shots of them. Sarah messaged me a couple days before the session letting me know she was going to surprise Mike with his wedding present early – and did she ever surprise him!! She had been secretly training and she got her motorcycle license!! He was totally blown away, his reaction was the best!
With the surprise and the two days spent with them I truly got to see their love first hand and it was an amazing thing to be a part of. They were down for anything I threw at them, including trekking down steep hills (in a dress) because my photography vision saw some logs below us that I wanted to use, to “speeding” more than once back and forth to get some action shots, while cops were a few short kms up the lagoon, to pulling over because I wanted to grab a shot when the Sooke water looked tropical from the algae bloom. I had such a great time and our adventures were a great way to start to their newest adventure. Congrats you two and thanks for choosing me, I wish you all the best with your destination wedding!
